Adult cardiology

A huge number of patient videos, animations, drawings, and X-rays will markedly augment cardiology teaching providing students with added confidence when examining a patient.

EXAMPLES

Below is a selection of sample videos from this accelerator library

Jugular Venous Pulse (JVP) examination

Right ventricular failure with a raised JVP.

VSD

This 61-year-old man has an acquired ventricular septal defect following a myocardial infarction. Surgical repair has been attempted but has failed. He has a pansystolic murmur consistent with a recurrent septal defect.

Tricuspid regurgitation

This 79-year-old lady with severe mitral regurgitation has developed pulmonary hypertension and, as a consequence, tricuspid regurgitation. She has a pan systolic murmur of mitral regurgitation at the apex and a pan systolic murmur of tricuspid regurgitation heard at the right sternal edge. The tricuspid regurgitation murmur is augmented by the patient holding her breath in inspiration.

Aortic regurgitation

The voice-over of the animation explains the consequences of aortic regurgitation.
